ADDITIONAL METAL MACHINING
In addition to turning, milling and customer-specific machining, we also offer additional metal machining.
Satinising is a type of surface treatment that improves the aesthetic of a product. In the process of satinising, the metal is machined with sanding belts or brushes to a certain robustness. Satinising also covers surface defects caused by previous finishing processes. It is a meticulous process that requires a highly trained team.
Years of experience and development have led to a sophisticated satinising process at Griffing, which has passed a salt spray test and shown to have the highest anti-corrosion resistance compared to standard satin-finishing.
Polishing is a type of metal surface treatment, in which the goal is to achieve a smooth and shiny surface that is aesthetically close to a mirror. We perform manual polishing, in which the metal is manually pressed against a rotating polishing wheel with paste.
Polishing is recommended especially for products intended for harsh environments (seaside, saline and sanitary environments) as it allows for easy disinfection and offers superior anti-corrosion protection (proven by a salt spray test).
Our equipment also includes a Senfeng laser metal cutting machine. The tube laser is used to cut tubes and profiles of different shapes. The laser has a power range of up to 3.3 kW. It has an automatic pneumatic head for easier and faster clamping of the tube. The laser is also equipped with an edge detection system.
DEBURRING OR VIBRATORY FINISHING
Deburring is the process of deburring the sharp edges that are created after machining. Needles and sharp edges appear on metal after grinding, turning or milling.
Deburring is carried out in vibrating machines. The workpieces are mixed with an abrasive medium (ceramic or plastic pebbles) of different shapes that are determined according to the requirements and shape of the workpieces.
Some number of our customers have the additional requirement of assembled pieces for their products. In addition to machining, Griffing offers a workpiece assembly service. In cooperation with external partners, we test the assembled pieces to our customers’ specifications.
At Griffing, we weld using the TIG process, which is an arc welding process using neutral gases and a non-fusible tungsten electrode that is not used in a shielded environment. TIG welding is demanding, but offers precise high quality welds that are not prone to cracking and therefore extremely resistant to corrosion.
MANUAL LASER WELDING
Manual laser welding is non-contact welding. The working principle is the direct irradiation of a high energy intensity laser beam on the surface of the material. Through the interaction of the laser and the material, The matal melts inside then cools and crystallises to form a weld.
